How to Add File Uploads to Your Form
Let users upload documents, images, and files through your form. Secure storage with file type and size limits.
Before you start
- A free Formet account
Add a file upload field
Open your form in the builder. Drag the "File Upload" field type from the field panel onto your form canvas.
Configure allowed file types
In the field settings, specify which file types are allowed: images (JPG, PNG), documents (PDF, DOCX), spreadsheets (XLSX), or all files. This prevents users from uploading unsupported formats.
Set size limits
Configure maximum file size per upload. Typical limits: 5MB for documents, 10MB for images, 25MB for videos. This protects against oversized uploads.
Configure storage
Uploaded files are stored securely in cloud storage (Google Drive integration available). Files are accessible from the submissions dashboard.
Label clearly
Give the upload field a clear label like "Upload Resume (PDF, max 5MB)" so users know exactly what to upload and any restrictions.
