How to Set Up Email Notifications for Form Submissions

Get instant email alerts when someone fills out your form. Configure team notifications and auto-responses.

Before you start

  • A published Formet form
1

Open notification settings

Go to your form in the dashboard. Click Settings → Notifications. You'll see options for both admin notifications and respondent auto-replies.

2

Configure admin notifications

Enter one or more email addresses that should receive alerts on every submission. You can add multiple emails separated by commas. Each recipient gets the full submission data.

3

Set up auto-response (optional)

Enable auto-response to send a confirmation email to the person who submitted the form. Customize the subject line and message body. Include a thank-you message and next steps.

4

Customize email content

For admin notifications, choose which form fields to include in the email. You can include all fields or select specific ones that matter most for quick review.

5

Test notifications

Submit a test response and verify that emails arrive at all configured addresses. Check both admin notification and auto-response (if enabled).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I notify multiple people?

Yes. Add multiple email addresses in the notification settings. Each person receives the full submission data.

Can I send different notifications based on responses?

Yes. Use conditional notification rules to send different emails based on form field values. For example, route support tickets to different departments.

Are notification emails branded?

Emails include your form title and a "Powered by Formet" footer on the free plan. Remove branding on paid plans.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

Check your spam/junk folder. Also verify the email address in Settings → Notifications is correct. Ensure your form is published (drafts don't send notifications).
